Clarifying Hair and Removing Buildup

We’ve just released SHAMPOO BARS into our range and we suggest you clarify your hair and scalp every second wash once you’ve made the switch from commercial liquid shampoos. This can be done with Apple Cider Vinegar.

Commercial liquid shampoos and conditioners often contain waxes, synthetic silicones, and silica that coat your hair, to make it “feel” nice, but leave a residue in your hair. Synthetic silicones are derived from polymers which are soft, plastic, gel-like substances that are hard to remove from your hair and scalp. Styling products can also add to residue build up.

Products that have accumulated on your hair prevent moisture, oils and other nutrients from penetrating your hair.

Our natural shampoo bars are very gentle cleansers and do not strip hair in the same way as detergent based shampoos. As a result, may not thoroughly clean all the built up residue collected in your hair over the years of using liquid shampoos and conditioners.

Clarifying your hair is a way to remove all this product buildup and ensure our shampoo bars work effectively to penetrate the hair shaft and replenish your hair.

One very natural and effective clarifying product is APPLE CIDER VINEGAR (it’s important to use the 100% pure form which appears cloudy in the bottle with sediment on the bottom due to the “mother” which contains the natural living enzymes and nutrients.).

Apple Cider Vinegar removes scaly build-up and residue from hair shafts to cleanse and clarify the hair and scalp without stripping the hair of its natural oils.

Directions: Mix 1 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar with 2 Cups of Filtered Water to do a clarifying rinse in the shower after shampooing with our shampoo twice (and rinsing shampoo thoroughly). Apply the Apple Cider Vinegar clarifying rinse from scalp to ends and massage into scalp thoroughly then massage throughout rest of the hair and leave on for 5 minutes then rinse out. Follow with conditioner from mid lengths to ends.
